Root Canal Treatment

If you have a severe toothache or are experiencing pain or discomfort while chewing, a root canal may help to save your tooth!
In the past, if you found you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, it probably would have been lost completely. Today, at Truman Lake Dental, root canal treatment is used to save your tooth. The procedure is straight-forward and involves just a few visits to our office.

You might need a root canal if you have a severe toothache, experience pain when chewing or when pressure is applied, if you have prolonged sensitivity to temperatures, a dark discoloration of the tooth, and/or swelling and tenderness in the surrounding gums. It’s worth noting, however, that not all teeth that require root canal therapy are painful.

If you require a root canal treatment, your dentist at Truman Lake Dental will remove the unhealthy tissue. After that, the interior of the tooth will be cleaned up and sealed. Finally, the tooth will be filled with dental composite. If your tooth has extensive decay, your doctor might recommend putting a crown on the tooth to strengthen and protect it from breakage.

As long as you continue to care for your restored tooth, it will last a lifetime!

Keep your teeth healthy and pain-free with the help of a simple root canal procedure.
