CEREC DENTIST – CEREC®

Same Day Crown / CEREC DENTIST – CEREC® Is:

Provides Dental Restorations and Cosmetic Solutions in One Day

CEREC® is the modern solution to your dental care needs. At Truman Lake Dental, we use CEREC® to provide patients with better dental treatments in one day. The traditional process for dental procedures to treat damaged, stained, crooked or overcrowded teeth, involves taking an impression of the tooth. Upon completing measurements, the dentist sends the results to a lab to create the restoration. In the meantime, the patient may spend up to two weeks with a temporary restoration while the lab creates the new one. After the final restoration is complete, the patient returns for the bonding procedure and to verify that the restoration is a good fit. The two biggest challenges with this scenario come down to time and convenience. The traditional process takes too much time and is inconvenient due to the necessity to have multiple dental appointments and the need to wear a temporary solution.

3’D – Cone-Bean- Computed- Tomography

3’D – Cone-Bean- Computed- Tomography Is:

Dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of x-ray machine used in situations where regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. This type of CT scanner uses a special type of technology to generate three-dimensional (3-D) images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the head and neck region in a single scan, removing the need for multiple x-rays and giving a clearer image to the doctor. These better 3-D images allow for more precise planning and implementation of dental treatment, most specifically for the placement of dental implants, better-performed root canal therapy, and safer wisdom tooth extractions. Cone beam CT provides detailed images of the bone and is essential for evaluating diseases of the jaw, teeth, bony structures of the face, nasal cavity and sinuses. Usually, to have a 3-D image like this taken you would have to travel to see a specialist, but we offer these scans in the convenience of our office.

DENTAL CROWNS / DENTAL BRIDGES

DENTAL CROWNS / DENTAL BRIDGES Is:

A bridge is a fixed dental restoration (a fixed dental prosthesis) used to replace one or more missing tooth by joining an artificial tooth definitively to adjacent teeth or dental implants. A bridge will span the area where teeth are missing. They are attached to the natural teeth or implants that surround this space. The natural teeth or implants which support the bridge are called abutments. Depending on the type of bridge, natural abutment teeth may be reduced in size to accommodate the bridge to fit over them. An impression will be taken of the abutment tooth or implant and space to provide a mould to create the bridge. Using this, the bridge is then fabricated in a dental laboratory. Dental bridges offer several advantages. They can usually be completed in only two dental appointments, restore the tooth back to full chewing function, require no periodic removal for cleaning, have a long life expectancy and are aesthetically pleasing.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

DENTAL IMPLANTS Is:

A dental implant is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.

DENTAL CLEANINGS

DENTAL CLEANINGS Is:

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease. People routinely clean their own teeth by brushing and interdental cleaning, and dental hygienists can remove hardened deposits (tartar) not removed by routine cleaning. Those with dentures and natural teeth may supplement their cleaning with a denture cleaner.

DENTURES AND PARTIAL DENTURES

DENTURES AND PARTIAL DENTURES Is:

Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. That’s because dentures make it easier to eat and speak better than you could without teeth—things that people often take for granted. When you lose all of your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. They can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile. Partial dentures are made to be removable and replace multiple missing teeth. A partial denture is constructed by a molded plate, usually made of pink acrylic to mimic your gums, affixed with replacement teeth. Depending on your needs, your dentist will choose to design a partial denture made from a metal framework of clasps or precision attachments connecting the plate to your natural teeth.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT  Is:

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

TEETH WHITENING

TEETH WHITENING Is:

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment done to improve the appearance of teeth. Teeth are whitened to remove the effects of coffee, cigarettes, and other substances that permanently stain or discolor teeth. Medications such as antibiotics like tetracycline may discolor teeth. Fluorosis, a condition caused by absorbing too much fluoride, could affect tooth color. Furthermore, aging also causes teeth to lose their bright color.

DENTAL CLEANINGS / EXAMINATION

DENTAL CLEANINGS / EXAMINATION Is:

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease. People routinely clean their own teeth by brushing and interdental cleaning, and dental hygienists can remove hardened deposits (tartar) not removed by routine cleaning. Those with dentures and natural teeth may supplement their cleaning with a denture cleaner.

CLEAR CORRECT

Invisible Braces / CLEAR CORRECT Is:

is a clear aligner system used to straighten teeth as an alternative to traditional braces. Similar to other clear aligner brands (like Invisalign) available to dentists or orthodontists certified to offer them to their patients, ClearCorrect straightens teeth using a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners that gradually move teeth a little bit at a time, eventually correcting the teeth and smile to elicit a new, revitalized look.

What You Should Know

Your records — including impressions, photographs and radiographs, along with a prescription for your custom-made aligners — are sent by your dentist to the ClearCorrect laboratory, where an exact 3-D model of your teeth is created. Your treatment team then maps out a complete treatment plan showing the gradual realignment that will reposition your teeth from their current position to where your dentist wants them to be.

The “treatment set-up,” a computerized representation of your teeth before and after treatment, is available for viewing after treatment planning. You receive your treatment set-up by email and respond with your approval or any adjustment requests. Using the most up-to-date digital mapping and molding technology, custom aligners then are created with computer precision.
